Jeremy Lin Hits Go-Ahead Free-Throw In The Win
I’m not quite sure if it was a case of two teams playing tough defense on the opposing point-guard, or if Jeremy Lin and Ricky Rubio were just having bad shooting nights. What I do know is that Lin and Rubio shot a combined 13-of-39 from the field when the New York Knicks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night.
In all fairness to Lin, he seemed fatigued in the second half, when he shot 1-of-12. However, you have to give the Wolves credit for playing tough defense after halftime on him. They collapsed on him when he drove the lane, and he seemed to struggle for a while in adjusting to it. If other teams take a cue from what Minnesota did, he may see a lot more of that, so he will have to make adjustments. Luckily for the Knicks, Lin is a Harvard grad who should excel during his career at making adjustments in his game. He ended the game with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 8 assists.
For Rubio, he bounced back from his career low one assist two games ago. He ended up 12 points, 8 assists and 3 steals. He is once again tops in the NBA in steals at 2.46 per game, just above Mike Conley.
